On August 27th we received great news from the Department of Transportation. One of three projects that I nominated to the Forest Highways program was ranked very high on a statewide list. The Echo Cove to Cascade Point paving project will receive up to $2 million through the Forest Highways Program.  DOT is planning to reconstruct the Echo Cove to Cascade Point portion of Glacier Highway as soon as the permits are in place. The state funded Glacier Highway extension project will be put out to bid in October of 2010 with construction scheduled for 2011. The Forest Highways paving project is scheduled for 2012.
