The House Finance Committee will hear public testimony on HB110: Oil & Gas Tax on March 24 in the State Capitol Building, room 519, from 5-8pm, and on March 25 from 3-7pm.
The Governor’s Oil Tax legislation proposes changes to the current oil and gas production tax structure. HB110 would provide tax incentives and credits to incentivize an increase in exploration and development, allow producers to apply tax credits in one year, reduce the interest rate on delinquent taxes and refunds, and cap the progressivity tax at 25% above the 25% base rate with a maximum rate of 50% on legacy fields and 40% on new fields.
On March 15 the Redistricting Board received 2010 population data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The data has been posted at http://www.akredistricting.org/data. The Redistricting Board has begun holding public hearings across the state to take public comments. The Redistricting Board will hold a hearing in Juneau on Friday, March 25 at the Alaska State Capitol Building from 12 – 7pm in room 106.
