The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is taking nominations for the 2012 – 2015 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) until September 13, 2010 at 5:00pm. See the DOT website for project nomination forms and evaluation criteria.

DOT&PF has proposed changes to the 2010-2013 STIP. Funding scenarios have been updated for 140 STIP projects. Projects have been added, changed or removed from the 2010-2013 STIP as a result of schedule changes, updated estimates of costs and to take advantage of unanticipated funding that has become available. More project details are available on DOT’s website. Public comments can be emailed to dot.stip@alaska.gov until July 30 at 5:00pm.

The nomination process is an opportunity for communities to submit improvement ideas for highways, ferries, trails, recreational access and transit.
